Salary: £49,161.05 per annum plus 15% annual bonus & Veolia benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (Occasional weekend work)
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire PO3 5QH

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver preventative maintenance programs, overhauls, and planned shutdowns while managing budgets and minimising downtime
- Respond to emergency breakdowns using diagnostic expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions quickly
- Manage and coordinate maintenance subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures and quality requirements
- Monitor and maintain strict adherence to health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, audit trails, and equipment histories using CMMS, plus manage spares inventory and stock control
Qualifications
- Time‑served engineer with completed apprenticeship and City & Guilds OR NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (ideally mechanical bias)
- Manufacturing/production background in medium to heavy engineering - processing plants, production facilities, or recycling operations
- Hydraulics expertise - hands‑on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic systems and components
- Mobile plant experience - working with conveyors, material handling systems, automated machinery, or production equipment
- Multi‑skilled capability (desirable) - background in both mechanical AND electrical engineering disciplines
- Full UK driving licence (desirable) - occasional travel to other sites may be required
