- Position Summary
In this role you will manage the planning and on-time delivery of a defined portfolio of parts across the full product lifecycle, including NPI, production, transfers, and supply chain design.
You will serve as the primary contact for both external suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring strong relationship management and timely delivery performance.
This role also involves driving adherence to supplier commitments, resolving risks to delivery and inventory, and maintaining SAP data integrity in line with ERP processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the planning and on-time delivery of a defined portfolio of components across the full product lifecycle, including demand flow down and alignment with supplier capacity.
- Review and maintain planning parameters so the MRP run generates a demand signal aligned with suppliers’ capacity.
- Manage demand flow down to suppliers, providing weekly orderbooks reflective of Rolls-Royce needs, including exceptions from the ERP system requiring review and action by suppliers.
- Manage requisitions for un-sourced parts to enable timely sourcing by buyers.
- Lead regular supplier reviews (delivery and orderbook reviews) to assess performance across KPIs, load and capacity plans, and ensure mitigation plans for risks and issues.
- Ensure changes to suppliers’ production plans are reflected in Rolls-Royce ERP systems and drive arrears recovery plans for parts behind schedule.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure buffer stock requirements/agreements are met and drive compliance.
- Escalate and resolve delivery issues with stakeholders, providing clear plans and frequent updates.
- Coordinate with other functions to resolve issues affecting supplier delivery, including invoice clearance, commercial disputes, technical/quality queries, or insufficient PO coverage.
- Review KPIs and present progress during weekly ERP compliance reviews; work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery issues beyond supplier control (e. g., stock in transit, NCR stock).
- Support development and continuous improvement of the Procurement Production System and related processes.
- Position qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a numerate or business discipline or equivalent experience in planning, manufacturing or supply chain.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or institute (e. g., APICS CPIM) would be desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel essential) with working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP MRP, Production Planning & Material Management.
- An understanding of load and capacity planning.
- Data analysis and decision-making skills, comfortable dealing with data-driven challenges.
