Physical Commodities Operations Specialist
City of London Permanent £90K-£110K cer Financial are working alongside an investment bank, who are based in the City of London.
They are seeking a Physical Commodities Operations Specialist (VP) to work with them on a permanent basis.
MUST HAVE
- The responsibilities of the Physical Commodities Operations Specialist (VP) will include:
- Manage logistics, transportation, and movement of physical commodities.
- Coordinate warehousing and inventory management activities.
- Support vessel operations and ensure efficient shipment execution.
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers and operational partners.
- Develop, implement, and improve operational procedures, controls, and processes.
- Oversee client onboarding and end-to-end operational workflows.
- Support physical commodities transactions within a banking or financial markets environment.
- Work closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Legal, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Drive operational efficiency, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will have
- Significant experience in physical commodities operations within a bank, commodities trading house, or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and operational controls.
- Experience supporting physical commodity products such as metals, energy, or agricultural commodities.
- Proven ability to manage third-party providers and operational processes.
- Understanding of end-to-end physical commodity transaction workflows.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups in a regulated financial environment.
- Banking or trading / commodities houses experience.
