The University of Aberdeen is looking to appoint an ambitious and experienced Performance Rowing Coach to lead and shape the senior performance programme at University Rowing Aberdeen (URA), a Scottish Rowing Performance Partner Programme at the forefront of the University’s expanding high‑performance environment. Established in 2012, University Rowing Aberdeen has achieved success at GB Under 23 and Senior International level and is now looking to build on these achievements in the years ahead.
Working closely with student athletes, university staff, volunteers, and external partners, the appointed coach will foster a positive, ambitious, and high‑performing environment that enables athletes to realise their full potential. As part of the Experience, Engagement and Wellbeing Team, the role will be line managed within the Sport and Exercise Team. The role will be primarily based at the Aberdeen Aquatics Centre, with regular travel between the club’s boat houses and training facilities. Attendance at training camps and competitions across Scotland and the UK will also be required.
Responsibilities:- Lead the coaching and development of the senior performance end of University Rowing Aberdeen.
- Support the wider athlete pathway and ensure effective integration across all levels of the programme.
- Drive performance standards, support athlete progression, and strengthen the club’s long‑term vision.
- Attend training camps and competitions in Scotland and the UK.

This role is at the appropriate point on Grade 5, 60% of £33,002- £36,636 per annum, pro rata and negotiable based on qualifications and experience. In accordance with the UKVI immigration rules, this role does not meet the salary requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
