Responsibilities
- As the Pensions Support Specialist, you will be the trusted first point of contact for HR Business Partners and Employee Relations teams.
- Combine technical pension knowledge with excellent stakeholder management to:
- Resolve pension queries independently – using expertise to find solutions and knowing when to escalate
- Support strategic HR projects – bringing pension considerations to organisational initiatives
- Improve pension communications – helping colleagues understand their pension schemes clearly and confidently
- Manage complex cases – handling 5-10 simultaneous pension cases with excellence
- Drive governance and compliance – ensuring decision-making and documentation stay current, accurate and compliant
Collaboration
Work with HR Business Partners & Employee Relations Specialists, Internal Communications teams, external pension providers & legal advisers, and indirectly support Veolia’s 15,000 colleagues.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pensions (management, consulting or administration)
- GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
- Advanced skills in problem solving, relationship management, communication, time management and decision-making
- IT literacy: Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets and Word/Google Docs skills
- Strong interpersonal skills – influencing, negotiating, and building trust
- Organised and deadline-driven – manage multiple priorities effortlessly
- Self-starter mentality – take initiative and drive projects forward
Desirable
- Graduate degree (or equivalent)
- PMI or relevant pensions qualifications (RPC, Trustee Certificate)
- The Pensions Regulator’s Trustee Toolkit
