System Test Technician in Oxford

Position Summary

The Test Technician executes system test activities for electrical/electronic, mechanical, material, software, and medical system components, evaluating function, performance, safety, interface, and reliability.

The role maintains documentation for traceability and supports regulatory and quality management requirements within an ISO 13485, 21 CFR PART 820 and MDR environment.

This is an onsite role based in Oxford, with a team of colleagues in Oxford and external resources as required by the project.

Responsibilities

• Execute system tests across the product and project portfolio to ensure adherence to test plans and procedures.
• Assist unit testing, integration testing, and ad hoc testing activities.
• Provide feedback to test procedures and work instructions for continuous improvement.
• Document test results accurately, compile objective evidence, and generate reports in DHF, DMR, and DHR to ensure QMS compliance.
• Enter test data into test and issue management systems.
• Build test fixtures and maintain equipment, tools, and assets for testing, including calibration and inventory records.
• Maintain records of sample and prototype inventory.
• Collaborate with external resources such as accredited laboratories.
• Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and test methods.
• Support the formulation of user and product requirement specifications to ensure items are testable.
• Adhere to Organ Ox's Code of Conduct and company policies.

Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience in executing test procedures for mechatronic systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical/electronics testing, software-driven mechatronic devices, precision control, fluid flow control, or hydraulics.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, process flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience with infrastructure and tool qualifications.
• Excellent documentation skills and experience with common test and issue management systems (e. g., Azure Dev Ops, JIRA, Git Hub).
• Basic knowledge of medical device standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow test procedures and protocols.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and provide timely feedback and progress updates.
• Proficiency in using test equipment in electronics, electrical, and mechanical fields.
• Experience with test automation tools or scripting is desirable.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences or related field.
• Established track record in systems testing within the medical device industry is desirable.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
