IT Services is the University's central IT department, providing the digital systems, services and expertise that support research, teaching and administration.

Within IT Services, Software Solutions develops and supports business applications used across the University, working collaboratively to deliver reliable, user-centred services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enterprise Applications Senior Developer to join us on a fixed-term basis for 2 years.

About the Role

  • As Enterprise Applications Senior Developer, you will lead the development, enhancement and support of business-critical applications built on the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Working with technologies including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, ASP.

NET, SQL Server and Azure Paa S, you will help ensure enterprise applications remain secure, reliable and effective for users across the University.

  • You will provide technical leadership across application development, integration, maintenance, database design and cloud services, including Azure Integration Services.
  • You will also drive development standards, mentor developers and work closely with Business Analysts, Functional Analysts and stakeholders to deliver continuous service improvements and reduce technical debt.

About You

You will bring

  • Significant experience developing, maintaining and supporting complex business-critical applications, or equivalent professional experience in a computing or IT discipline.
  • Strong hands-on development expertise in at least three of: Dynamics 365, Power Platform, C# . NET, ASP. NET, SQL Server or Azure Paa S, including Azure Integration Services.
  • A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle, including information security and data protection.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex application, database and performance issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
