  • Senior Theatre Practitioner - Orthopaedic Scrub

Newcastle Hospital | Theatre | Permanent | Full Time | Up to £45,000 per annum depending on skills and experience 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Prioritise patient safety, take appropriate actions and encourage colleagues to call out and report safety concerns.
  • Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff in full compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health's quality governance framework and national standards (e. g., CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, Fundamentals of Care, professional standards and evidence-based guidelines).
  • Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion, and support them emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians within the hospital to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Take charge of a theatre, co-ordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Proven Orthopaedic Theatre experience as a Senior.
  • HCPC registration (eligible for registration and/or fully registered in the UK).
  • Post-registration experience with a focus on perioperative care.
  • Willingness to engage in teaching, learning and development; opportunity to progress with SFA development.

  • Facilities include 3 operating theatres, on-site pathology, diagnostic imaging (CT/MRI) and on-site physiotherapy; focus on orthopaedics, spinal surgery, ophthalmology, weight loss surgery and cosmetic treatment.
