Our project finance and business case advisory team support clients in developing, implementing, and optimising procurement and funding strategies for greener and sustainable fit to meet Net Zero targets.
Responsibilities
- Understand the factors influencing major programme set up, development and delivery at different stages in the programme lifecycle, with an emphasis on business case development and major infrastructure development using private capital.
- Use your experience and knowledge to contribute to the assessment of a business challenge, the development of an ‘optimal’ solution, and the implementation of that solution.
- Deploy our established processes, tools and systems, tailoring these to suit specific circumstances and contributing to their continuous improvement and development.
- Use strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to support the successful adoption and realisation of business outcomes.
- Present ideas and outputs in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
- Operate confidently as part of a multi‑disciplined team providing a holistic professional advisory service to clients across all parts of a major programme.
- Be accountable for the quality of your work and deliver on excellent client care.
- Share knowledge and experience with colleagues through communities of practice, social media channels and workshops.
- Identify, contribute to and progress business generation opportunities where appropriate.
- Travel flexibly as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree, Masters, MBA or equivalent experience – advantageous.
- Experience of project finance and/or business case development, preferably in one or more of de‑carbonisation, Net Zero, renewable energy, defence or water.
- Experience working within the public sector, managing transactions or projects across a range of sectors and organisations.
- Understanding of the latest UK policy guidance and the implementation of economic benefit assessment, including social value, community benefits and low‑carbon transition.
- Experience with technologies and services in de‑carbonisation and Net Zero such as hydrogen, electric/zero‑emissions and hybrid transport infrastructure, sustainable transport, batteries (including battery storage) and carbon capture storage.
- Understanding of the concept of project finance and the role of private capital in infrastructure development, especially for de‑carbonisation and Net Zero.
- PPP/PFI experience, in particular PFI handback.
- Effective management experience within a multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrable capability as an influencer in commercial/procurement environments, with the flair to leverage commercial opportunities and grow client relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Robust and methodical analytical skills, adaptable and a team player ready to work as part of a growing business unit.
- Excellent communication skills – active listening, presentation and written communication.
- A natural gravitas in dealings with clients, with a ‘making the difference’ approach and an enquiring mind‑set.
- Ability to prepare, define and lead bid proposals, and work closely with senior management and the wider Turner & Townsend team.
