NDY Section Manager - Electrical

About the Role

This leadership role is pivotal in enhancing our business and team by leveraging strong people management experience and demonstrated electrical engineering technical expertise to ensure alignment across offices in terms of quality, methodology, verification, and overall technical solution approach. The goal is to deliver the best solutions for our clients and NDY, with consistency and quality assurance key to managing risk. Strong leadership will be required to foster collaboration, ensuring individuals and teams support each other and deliver work as a cohesive unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of electrical engineering professionals, including resource management, team leadership, project leadership, and technical guidance.
  • Be accountable for achieving the team's business plan objectives, driving profitable growth, maintaining the department's reputation, and ensuring overall operating performance of the department and the wider office.
  • Act as Project Leader on assigned projects, which may require the nomination of project engineers and reviewers for projects where appropriate.
  • Plan and resource projects to ensure all NDY activities and designs are fully coordinated and implemented in line with NDY's Project Management plan.
  • Strategically pursue local opportunities, lead project pursuits, and deliver sales presentations for all major projects.
  • Take a lead role in major submissions, determining the game plan, and preparing and presenting submissions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years of technical experience in the electrical sector, managing a variety of projects across the full systems development lifecycle and taking responsibility for delivering projects.
  • Strong focus on people management, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Established experience in professional engineering across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects.
  • Experience working within the building services sector utilizing Australian building codes and standards.
  • Strong understanding of relevant standards and building codes in the region.
