Responsibilities
- Support the asset creation list and ensure full asset list is created and uploaded onto CMMS.
- Ensure all assets have an appropriate maintenance regime (planned, condition-based, or run‑to‑failure as applicable) recorded and assigned in the CMMS, with all SCE holding appropriate statutory inspections and all work meeting relevant safety, statutory and legislative requirements.
- Responsible for the execution of agreed planned/corrective maintenance tasks on their shift and take an active role in improving the way we carry out maintenance. This includes logging work done so that faults/problems/defects encountered are captured in the CMMS along with parts used and time spent.
- Follow relevant quality SOPs to ensure the first‑time quality of our products, service is guaranteed when equipment is returned to production and all work is carried out to the correct engineering standards.
- Assist the engineering coordinator and site leadership team in the prioritisation of work orders. Recommend and advise on preventive maintenance improvements in order to achieve maximum availability of plant & equipment.
- Support delivery of the site's capital project (CapEx) workload alongside business‑as‑usual maintenance, protecting planned preventive maintenance (PPM) time so that project activity does not displace statutory and compliance‑driven tasks.
- Lead a focused drive to clear the backlog of overdue critical maintenance tasks within the fixed term, restoring PPM compliance to target levels and reducing asset and safety risk.
- Where required, liaise with and support external suppliers/contractors. Support PTW requirements for any work by contractors (maintenance and projects).
- Actively participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes relevant to maintenance excellence and demonstrate commitment to site philosophy.
- Support two‑person isolation and high‑hazard containment activities, closing the current gap in safe isolation coverage across shifts.
- Maintain work area to 5S standards. Ensure it is maintained in a safe and effective condition.
- Assist with asset projects from concept and design through to implementation, testing and final handover ensuring that asset drawings and registers are updated to reflect the changes.
- Identify and participate in training to assist in your own personal development and to improve productivity. This will include CompEx capability with knowledge of working within hazardous areas covered by the ATEX regulations.
- Provide first‑line asset support for any breakdowns on the Laverstoke site.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations within the workplace and strive to eliminate any potential hazards before they become accidents or incidents.
- Lead, with support from the site's established maintenance team, the development of contingency plans for critical assets – covering fallback options, temporary workarounds and escalation routes – to minimise downtime in the event of failure.
- Coordinate with site engineering and maintenance colleagues to build a long‑term business continuity strategy for engineering assets, identifying single points of failure, obsolescence risk and resilience gaps across the site.
- Lead a site‑wide spares audit, working with the maintenance team to establish current holding against critical assets, and produce a recommended critical spares list with minimum/maximum stock levels.
