About the Role

Work closely with the HR Shared Services Team Leader to process the monthly payroll, ensuring calculations and deductions have been processed correctly and promptly meeting strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Process statutory payments, calculate starter and leaver deductions and backpay, manage pensions activities, export timesheet hours and perform reconciliation to avoid under/over payments.
  • Act as the first point of contact for complex payroll queries and collaborate with the finance department to produce data for audits and ad‑hoc queries.
  • Liaise with the payroll software provider and raise cases where needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CIPP qualification or BA (Hons)
  • Experience in running an end‑to‑end payroll
  • Experience in processing pay for absences and statutory sick pay
  • Confidence in answering complex payroll queries and ability to communicate responses effectively to non‑payroll employees
  • Experience gained in a busy HR department
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of pensions processes
  • Experience and ability of building strong customer relationships
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables
