Role Summary

Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

This role is critical to maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice

Processing: Receive, review, and verify invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Code and enter invoices into the accounting system promptly and accurately.

Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved.

  • Payments: Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments. Ensure timely payments of invoices, negotiating payment terms with vendors when necessary.
  • Vendor

Management: Maintain and update vendor files, including contact information, payment terms, and tax information.

Communicate with vendors to address and resolve any payment issues or discrepancies.

Reconcile vendor statements and manage vendor inquiries.

  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports via Concur, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
  • Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing accounts payable reports and supporting documentation.

  • Compliance and

Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures related to accounts payable.

Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounts payable transactions.

  • Process

Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in the accounts payable function.

Assist in the development and implementation of new accounts payable policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e. g., Oracle, D365) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
  • Knowledge of the trading card industry is a plus.
