About the Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner‑led service right to our customers' doors.

You’ll play out our ethos of passionate Partners serving food lovers and, when not on the road, will support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check your delivery routes for the day.
  • Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
  • Perform all appropriate vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance and health and safety standards.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, prioritising excellent customer service.
  • Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
  • Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Time‑management skills.
  • Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e. g. lifting of crates, moving cages).
  • Comfortable working independently, self‑motivated and adaptable.
  • IT literacy.
  • Minimum age 18 years.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a driving role.
  • Knowledge of chilled vehicles.

Pay: £14.31 hourly. Night premium of £3.75 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.

Contract & Hours

Contract type: Permanent. Hours of work: 21.5 hours per week, working Sunday 09:45‑20:15 and Monday 14:00‑22:00.
