Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage portfolio risk for approximately 40 SME Invoice Finance clients (turnover up to £25m).
  • Build and retain strong client relationships, act as primary relationship owner, conduct face‑to‑face visits where appropriate.
  • Optimize income and portfolio value through pricing discipline and product utilisation, identifying incremental opportunities and referrals across business and commercial banking.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and transition from sales, underwriting new business within delegated authority, and partnering with stakeholders for compliant implementation.
  • Operate with strong governance and judgement, adhering to delegated credit authorities and policies, while contributing to continuous improvement in risk and control processes.
  • Collate effectively with stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships across BCB and acting as credible advocate for Invoice Finance internally and externally.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Invoice Finance/Asset Based Lending products and risk drivers, 3‑5 years of experience.
  • Ability to analyse financial and collateral data and convert insight into clear actions.
  • Commercial judgement balanced with risk awareness.
  • Effective communicator, capable of influencing clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Developing sector knowledge relevant to the SME portfolio.
  • Full and current UK driving licence.

Preferred Experience:

  • Detailed knowledge of working capital needs of construction clients and risks associated with funding against contractual debt.
  • Well‑developed stakeholder network within the IF/ABL market.
