The CAD Engineer works with the team of engineers, Project Managers and the client/customer and is responsible for the production of detailed and accurate drawings that meet both project specifications and industry standards.

The CAD Engineer also assists in project planning and in the preparation of reports, technical submissions, designs and drawings.

This role has responsibility for quality, process and the high standards our customers expect.

Industry/job training will be provided and a building services background would be useful.

Key

Objectives: Responsible for detailed and accurate drawings and designs, plus assistance with reports and technical submissions, to align with client/customer specifications.

Provide input and support to the planning of projects and the development of technical solutions to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and contribute to on-going and new engineering projects.
  • Liaison with clients and outside parties/contractors to ensure accurate and detailed designed are produced according to key requirements.
  • Attend site and project review as required, take detailed survey information and feedback recommendations.
  • Provide support in the development of construction and technical solutions to meet customer/client specific needs.
  • Provide input into the planning of projects and assist Project Managers to correctly scope out projects, with timelines and verification activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of clear reports, technical submissions, designs and drawings.
  • Continuous development of good technical understanding of all areas of CAD drafting, Auto CAD, MEP, BDS, REVIT and BIM.
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, codes of practice and UK standards.
  • Assist in the generation of AVK standard drawings.
  • Other Departmental activities as requested by the business.
  • Metrics for success: Accuracy of drawings Quality, productivity and efficiency of work Customer / client satisfaction.

Key Requirements

  • Qualification in Design, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience with CAD software, such as Auto CAD, Solid Works, Revit or similar.
  • REVIT/BIM - Essential skill
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
