Responsibilities
- Cut, shape and assemble steel plate components.
- Build parts/assemblies to engineering drawings with precision.
- Ensure quality by maintaining high standards and carrying out visual inspections to verify fabrication and build against drawings.
- Operate fabrication machines such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials.
- Work from engineering drawings & specifications and correct revisions.
- Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints.
- Use hand tools to align and align technical drawings correctly.
- Perform grinding, burning, and other fabrication tasks.
- Review blueprints, drawings, and other specification papers before starting work and during the steps to ensure accurate completion.
- Employ furnaces or hand torches to heat materials to make them more flexible for bending or manipulation.
- Create templates/Jigs for common work tasks to ensure a standard of work quality.
Qualifications
- Good knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Understanding of QC inspection and process experience.
- Experience using drilling machines, rolling machines, & guillotines.
- Previous experience in steel metal fabrication.
- Ability to interpret work from drawings.
- Experience in fabrication.
- Competent in using hand and power tools.
