The Supplier Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of direct and indirect suppliers, ensuring service quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with contractual obligations.

The role involves contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and collaboration with internal teams to build and align supplier strategies with business objectives.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of supplier relationships
  • Proactively manage supplier performance and be capable of leading business reviews, up to c-suite level
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure supplier compliance is to standard
  • Build supplier business plans and strategies to align with key business objectives

What you will do

  • Manage the end-to-end supplier lifecycle across a portfolio of suppliers
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, with a working knowledge of supplier management practices, and experience running tender (RFP) processes
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to optimise value and reduce risk
  • Ensure supplier compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supplier activities with business needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier documentation and records
  • Continuously review team processes and outputs, implementing positive changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • What we expect of you
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in supplier/vendor management or a related procurement role
  • Proven track record in developing, negotiating, and managing a supplier base
  • Experience in implementing supplier management methodologies and tools
  • Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills, including at management level
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to generate actionable insights from supplier data
  • Skilled in stakeholder management across multiple functions
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and quality management principles
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in supplier management systems and reporting tools
  • Professional procurement qualification (e. g. CIPS) desirable
  • Commercially aware with a focus on driving value
  • Able to balance operational delivery with strategic thinking
