Overview
Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy fast.
We are building a fully integrated energy company, from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations.
By selling directly to consumers, we aim to cut costs and pass savings to customers.
We are also building the Energy Network — a decentralised platform of smart devices to electrify homes, shift usage to off-peak hours, and help balance the grid.
Purpose: As a key member of the Service team the O&M Manager will be responsible for leading the Group's Service department, providing support to the EPC team for projects entering end of construction, and ensuring peak performance of Fuse Energy's power plants with full compliance of all contractual obligations.
The successful candidate will play a leadership role within the organisation and work closely with all stakeholders to provide best-in-class fleet operations.
This position reports to the Head of Projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough industry research to identify and analyze leading operational practices.
- Review project blueprints, specifications, and installation guidelines to ensure alignment with approved designs.
- Provide assistance to the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) team throughout the construction phase.
- Effectively manage and resolve fleet activities and issues to maintain optimal power plant performance.
- Optimise project locations and assess energy loss and uncertainty calculations.
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with warranty and service agreements, overseeing contract administration and site operations.
- Guarantee adherence to all contractual obligations, including regulatory requirements and agreements such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and land leases.
- Supervise external Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contractors, providing guidance for repairs, inspections, and system commissioning.
- Contribute to the development of advanced maintenance solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction strategies.
- Foster strong communication and rapport with project stakeholders, including owners, off-takers, and financiers, to enhance customer satisfaction and reporting.
- Collaborate with external resources to address persistent plant performance issues and identify root causes.
- Prioritise daily O&M department tasks, delegate responsibilities, and demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
- Coordinate service requests from external O&M providers, including quoting, scheduling, and performing necessary work.
- Manage departmental invoicing and budgets to ensure financial accountability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Educational level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. On the job equivalent will be considered.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential. Knowledge of Spanish and other European languages are a plus.
- Expertise in project management, specifically in renewable technologies, as well as service and maintenance management, along with proficiency in economic analysis.
- Possess a proven track record of leadership in asset management and operations and maintenance (AM & OM), preferably within the renewable energy sector, focusing on assets such as Wind, PV, BESS, and H2.
- Experience in leading high-performing global teams is a plus.
