  • Overview
  • Head of Commercial

IG Group (LSEG: IGG) is a leading global fintech, established in 1974 and headquartered in London.

As a member of the FTSE 100, we provide clients access to approximately 19,000 financial markets - shares, forex, indices, commodities and more - through cutting-edge trading and investment platforms.

The Group operates across 19 countries and serves hundreds of thousands of clients globally.

Under the leadership of CEO Breon Corcoran, IG is in an exciting new chapter with an ambitious growth agenda anchored on three strategic pillars: product enhancements, a high-performance culture, and efficiency & scalability.

The Group also includes tastytrade, tastylive and Freetrade (acquired in May 2025).

Role

We are looking for a commercially sharp, curious leader to take on the commercial function in IG's UK Division: our largest and most established business, with an ambitious target to 3x active customers by 2028.

Reporting into the Commercial Director, but encouraged to work autonomously, you will lead a team of two Commercial Strategy Associates and work across the full breadth of commercial questions facing the division: pricing, greenfield propositions, divisional strategy, and unblocking delivery.

You will partner closely with the UK Heads of Product, Marketing and Compliance, and also contribute to materials for the UK MD and Board.

We are seeking someone genuinely versatile who can tackle marketing, product or pricing challenges and help unlock momentum.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial Analysis & Strategy: Lead analysis of commercial performance metrics to identify actionable trends, opportunities and challenges across the UK Division.

Develop comprehensive insights on competitor activity and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.

Independently assess the commercial viability of existing and potential new product lines, presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Lead strategy work for the UK Division, framing the most important commercial questions and driving them to a decision.

  • Pricing & Revenue

Optimisation: Drive pricing strategy and execution across the UK product portfolio - Investments, Trading and Crypto.

Proactively identify and champion initiatives to improve commercial performance.

  • Product Momentum & Growth: Develop and pressure-test greenfield product propositions, from concept through to commercial case and route to market.

Lead commercial projects from inception to implementation, navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.

Partner with Product, Marketing and Compliance to remove blockers and accelerate priority initiatives.

Evaluate new segments, revenue diversification and strategic partnerships that could expand our commercial footprint.

  • Stakeholder Management & Team

Leadership: Act as a trusted thought partner to the Commercial Director on the most important issues facing the division.

Prepare board-quality memos and presentations for the UK MD and the Board, including monthly operating review.

Build strong working relationships with the UK leadership team, Product, Marketing and Compliance.

Lead, develop and stretch a team of two Commercial Strategy Associates across a broad mix of analytical, strategic and delivery work.

What you will need

To succeed in this role, we think you will need

  • Significant experience across strategy, commercial and analytical roles - ideally a blend of top-tier consulting and lived in-house experience.

Pure consulting backgrounds without any operating experience will not be a fit.

  • Demonstrable breadth - a versatile operator able to move credibly between marketing, product, pricing, growth and operational problems.
  • Strong track record of leading strategy work end-to-end: framing the question, doing the analysis, building the recommendation and driving it to action.
  • Highly analytical, with confident command of financial modelling, pricing frameworks and commercial performance analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication - able to produce board-quality memos and presentations, and present credibly to senior leaders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing and Compliance to drive outcomes.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to make pragmatic decisions and pivot quickly as priorities shift.
  • Experience leading or coaching a small team.
  • Desirable but not essential: experience in fintech, financial services or another regulated, data-led consumer business.
  • Exposure to technology or platform businesses where product and commercial decisions are tightly coupled.
  • Familiarity with retail trading or investment products.

We believe that diversity is vital to success. We are committed to building teams with a variety of perspectives and experiences that fuel creativity and drive global success.
