The Head of Business Data & Technology Management is a senior Markets leadership role responsible for shaping and governing the business's data and technology agenda. As the primary operational interface between the Markets, Technology and Data organisations, this role manages the integrated agendas of technology demand and delivery lifecycle on behalf of the business, and establishes a robust data plan that supports governance, regulatory obligations, and positioning data as a strategic asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Governance
- Establish and enhance frameworks for data quality, ownership, lineage, controls, and regulatory readiness.
- Implement internal consistency and accessibility standards for Markets-specific datasets, improving accessibility and scalability.
- Ensure Markets data is structured and governed to support regulatory requirements and business intelligence.
- Own the Markets response to regulatory data requests, audits, and internal data inquiries.
- Partner with Enterprise Data, Risk, Compliance and other functions to maintain a robust and future AI-ready data environment.
- Data Enablement & Business Advisory
- Identify, enhance, and expand Markets data assets by improving existing datasets, uncovering new sources of valuable data, and increasing accessibility and usability across the business.
- Drive the development of metadata, documentation, taxonomies, schemas, and standards that improve discoverability, governance, interoperability, and AI readiness.
- Act as a strategic advisor to Markets leadership on data-related opportunities and challenges, translating business requirements into effective data and technology solutions.
- Support teams responsible for data distribution and commercialisation by bridging business stakeholders and Technology.
- Serve as Markets' central point of expertise on data strategy and architecture, promoting data reuse, consistency, and scalable solutions across businesses and functions.
- Technology Strategy, Roadmaps & Delivery
- Act as the central coordinator for Markets technology demand, consolidating requests across business lines into a single prioritised view.
- Help business leaders define and maintain technology roadmaps aligned to strategic objectives.
- Ensure technology proposals are supported by clear business requirements, benefits, dependencies, and success measures.
- Challenge assumptions, timelines, and resource plans to promote transparency and accountability in technology requests.
- Serve as the primary business interface to Technology, providing oversight of key delivery commitments, milestones, risks, and escalations.
- Leadership & Governance
- Lead the Business Data & Technology Management function.
- Establish governance, reporting, and decision-making frameworks across data and technology initiatives.
- Represent Markets in firm-wide technology, data, and governance forums.
