The project is led by Professor Matt Rosseinsky OBE FRS, who works on the discovery of functional inorganic materials, through integrated computational and experimental approaches.
The project aims to move beyond traditional incremental materials development toward structure-driven discovery, using a hypothesis driven approach inspired by a recently discovered lithium ion conductor (Science, 2024, 383, 739) in which a computational workflow was used to both identify the target chemical composition for synthesis and to understand the origin of high ionic conductivity of the new material.
