Overview
Join Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) as a Tenancy Coach in the Tenancy Sustainment Team.
Help tenants navigate Universal Credit, hardship payments, and local support to sustain tenancies and build more secure futures.
Responsibilities
- Review caseload and prioritise customers who need urgent support.
- Empathise with customers experiencing financial difficulties and provide compassionate guidance.
- Carry out home visits or phone calls to explain arrears and agree repayment plans.
- Offer budgeting advice, help set up bank accounts, or support customers with benefit claims.
- Work with external partners, courts, or support agencies as needed.
- Attend Income Team meetings to share ideas, updates, and best practice.
- Keep detailed case notes and update customer records.
- Help customers access the right services at the right time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- The most important attribute is attitude and values: openness, accountability, dignity and respect; collaborative mindset; genuine empathy.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits (e. g., Universal Credit, housing benefit) and the wider support system.
- Experience managing a caseload and good IT skills with accurate record-keeping.
- Strong organisation and time management; resilience and a positive attitude through challenges.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; experience working with partner agencies.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
- Experience in income recovery or knowledge of rent arrears processes.
- Experience helping customers apply for welfare benefits.
- Background in housing or public-sector customer support.
