Technology plays a critical role in delivering that mission, and we’re looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to help shape and evolve our modern workplace platform.
This is a hands‑on engineering role responsible for designing, delivering and optimising Microsoft 365 services across the business.
You’ll work across identity, endpoint management, collaboration, security and AI‑powered efficiency tools, ensuring our colleagues have a secure, reliable and modern digital workplace experience.

- What You’ll Be Doing
- Design & Engineering
- Design, build and implement Microsoft 365 solutions aligned to business and technology requirements.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of New Day’s Modern Workplace capabilities.
- Deliver solutions across Windows, mac OS, i OS and Android devices, including both physical and virtual environments.
- Design and deploy endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune and related technologies.
- Develop and maintain operating system deployment, upgrade and lifecycle management strategies.
- Implement automated deployment and application packaging solutions.
- Create reusable engineering patterns, automation and standards to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Microsoft 365 Platform Ownership
- Manage and enhance Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft 365 Apps, Intune, Exchange Online, Share Point Online, One Drive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Copilot and the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI).
- Support the deployment, monitoring and governance of Microsoft AI services, ensuring compliance with internal standards and policies.
- Manage Microsoft Teams Direct Routing and associated telephony services.
- Review platform licensing and identify optimisation and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Security & Compliance
- Manage Microsoft Defender configurations, including Attack Surface Reduction (ASR) rules and exclusions.
- Implement and support Conditional Access policies and device‑based access controls.
- Support identity and access management across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Entra Connect.
- Enhance Microsoft Purview capabilities, including Audit, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and e Discovery.
- Ensure services align with security, compliance and governance requirements.
- Service Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Act as an escalation point for complex Microsoft service incidents and platform issues.
- Monitor Microsoft service health and communicate business‑impacting incidents to stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing platform support, troubleshooting and optimisation.
- Define and document operational standards and support processes.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience, automation and user experience.
- Drive awareness of upcoming Microsoft product changes and ensure successful adoption across business and technology teams.
- What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- Significant experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong expertise across Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience delivering Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions across both Windows and mac OS environments.
- Strong understanding of Conditional Access, identity security and endpoint compliance controls.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Share Point Online and One Drive.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Defender security capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, including Audit, DLP and e Discovery.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and Entra Connect.
- Experience with operating system deployment, device lifecycle management and endpoint engineering.
- Proficiency in Power Shell and/or command‑line scripting.
- Experience with application packaging and automated software deployment.
- Knowledge of networking, authentication, authorisation and cloud security concepts.
- Experience working within Agile engineering environments using tools such as Git Hub and Jira.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience developing and managing Microsoft Copilot Agents.
- Share Point migration experience.
- Experience with Dynamics365.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Backup and recovery services.
- Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Teams desk phones.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS or NIST.
- Microsoft certifications across Microsoft365, Security or Modern Workplace technologies.
