Our project finance and business case advisory team supports clients in developing, implementing, and optimising procurement and funding strategies for greener and sustainable projects to meet Net Zero targets.
Responsibilities
- Understand the factors influencing major programme set up, development and delivery at different stages of the programme lifecycle, with an emphasis on business case development and major infrastructure development using private capital.
- Contribute to the assessment of a business challenge, the development of an optimal solution, and the implementation of that solution.
- Deploy established processes, tools and systems, tailoring them to suit specific circumstances and contributing to their continuous improvement and development.
- Use strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to support the successful adoption and realisation of business outcomes.
- Present ideas and outputs in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
- Operate confidently as part of a multi‑disciplined team, providing a holistic professional advisory service to clients across all major programme stages.
- Be accountable for the quality of work and for delivering excellent client care.
- Share knowledge and experience with colleagues through communities of practice, social media channels and workshops.
- Identify, contribute to and progress business generation opportunities where appropriate.
- Be flexible to travel when restrictions are lifted.
- Support, lead, develop and manage existing and future relationships with the support of the Programme Advisory senior leadership team in an entrepreneurial environment that encourages a flexible approach to working.
- Prepare, define and lead on bid proposals, working closely with Senior Management and the wider Turner & Townsend team.
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Masters, MBA or equivalent qualification; or relevant experience would be advantageous.
- Experience of project finance and/or business case development, preferably in de‑carbonisation and Net Zero.
- Experience working with the public sector, managing transactions/projects within a public sector delivery setting across a range of sectors and organisations.
- Understanding of the latest UK policy guidance, economic benefit assessment, social value, community benefits and low‑carbon transition.
- Experience in hydrogen, electric/zero‑emissions and hybrid transport infrastructure, batteries (including battery storage) and carbon capture storage.
- Broad experience in renewable energy, transport, water services, defence and government services.
- Understanding of project finance and the role of private capital in infrastructure development, especially for de‑carbonisation and Net Zero.
- PPP/PFI experience, in particular PFI Handback.
- Effective management experience within a multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrable capability as an influencer within commercial and procurement environments, leveraging commercial opportunities and growing client relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Robust, methodical analytical skills and adaptability; a team player able to contribute to a growing business unit.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, presentation and written communication.
- A natural gravitas in dealings with clients, with a “making the difference” approach and an enquiring mind‑set.
