The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone early in their career to get broad, meaningful experience across both HR and Finance in a growing tech consultancy.
You will sit across both functions, supporting the Finance and People Team with the day-to-day activity that keeps Burendo running well.
No two days will be the same.
One morning you might be processing payroll inputs and the next you're onboarding a new joiner or helping with a bank reconciliation.
If you are organised, detail-oriented and genuinely interested in how businesses work from the inside, this role will give you an exceptional foundation across two critical business functions.
- Finance & Accounts
- Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable
- Raise sales invoices, manage accounts receivable and support credit control on overdue accounts
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations, escalating discrepancies to the Financial Controller
- Support cash and balance sheet reconciliations
- Process employee expenses, checking receipts and policy compliance
- Support payroll prep, including new joiners, leavers and pay changes
- Maintain accurate records in Xero and Bankline
- Support month‑end close, including accrual schedules and documentation
- Help coordinate audit requests with accurate, timely documentation
- HR & People Operations
- Support the employee lifecycle from offer letters and contracts to leavers, maintaining records in Bamboo HR
- Coordinate new joiner onboarding, including right to work checks, system set-up and induction
- Maintain HR data and support monthly reporting on absence, headcount and key metrics
- Support employee benefits and wellbeing administration
- Provide general admin support to the People function, including correspondence and confidential records
- Help coordinate engagement activities, internal events and culture communications
About You
Essential
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail

- Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good numerical aptitude, comfortable with data and spreadsheets
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Team player, happy to flex across both functions
Desirable
- Some experience in HR, finance, admin or office support (work, placement or job)
- Familiarity with HR/finance systems (e. g. Bamboo HR, Xero, Bankline)
- Experience in professional services, consultancy or tech
