We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and student-centred academics to join our growing Higher Education team as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Business Management.

Appointment will be made at the appropriate level based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated academic leadership.

The Role Reporting to the Head of School, you will deliver high-quality teaching, assessment, academic support, and module leadership across Business Management programmes, including Foundation Year provision where applicable.

For those appointed at Senior Lecturer level, the role also includes programme-level academic leadership and coordination, working closely with module leaders, lecturers, and professional services colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of programmes, maintenance of academic standards, and achievement of positive student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive, and professionally relevant teaching that supports student achievement and graduate success.
  • Plan and deliver learning activities aligned with approved learning outcomes, programme specifications, and awarding body requirements.
  • Design, assess, mark, and provide timely, constructive feedback that promotes student learning and progression.
  • Provide academic guidance through tutorials, workshops, and targeted student interventions.
  • Monitor attendance, engagement, assessment submission, progression, and achievement, taking appropriate action where required.
  • Manage and maintain module resources within the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Contribute to curriculum development, programme reviews, quality assurance, and continuous quality enhancement activities.
  • Work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver an exceptional student experience.

• In addition, Senior Lecturers will

  • Provide academic leadership and coordination across programmes, modules, and levels of study.
  • Coordinate assessment planning, moderation, internal verification, and quality assurance activities.
  • Monitor programme performance and contribute to improvements in continuation, completion, progression, student engagement, and graduate outcomes.
  • Produce programme reports and contribute to institutional quality enhancement and regulatory readiness.
  • Support responses to external examiner reports and contribute to assessment governance and academic standards.
  • Mentor and support academic colleagues where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for collaborative academics who demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, academic quality, and inclusive student-centred education.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) in a relevant discipline.
  • For Senior Lecturer appointments, a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience of teaching within UK higher education (or significant relevant higher/further education experience for Lecturer appointments).
  • Experience of module planning, delivery, assessment, and academic support.
  • Experience using Virtual Learning Environments (such as Blackboard, Moodle, or Microsoft Teams).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of academic quality assurance processes and assessment practices.
  • Additional Requirements for Senior Lecturer
  • Experience of module leadership and/or programme coordination.
  • Experience of assessment design, moderation, academic standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to provide academic leadership and coordinate programme delivery across multiple modules.

Desirable

  • Master's degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCHE or equivalent).
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA) or willingness to work towards achieving professional recognition.
  • Professional or industry experience relevant to Business Management.
  • Experience of internal verification, moderation, and external examiner processes.
