The Team: S&P DJI Index Governance, which oversees over 50 index committees. Index Committees operate as oversight and decision-making bodies in a fast-paced environment that values independence, global perspectives, equality, and respect. Committee chairpersons serve as critical bridges between the Index Committees and SPDJI's Governance framework, ensuring the integrity and quality of our benchmarks through collaborative decision-making processes.
Role Overview: Become a key contributor to S&P DJI Index Committees. Each committee meets regularly in the course of carrying out its duties. This person will work closely with the Index Committee Management team under the guidance of a senior Index Committee Chairperson. The person in this role will be a detail-oriented and proactive Analyst and will be pivotal in supporting the Index Committee Management team by overseeing various Index Governance initiatives and ensuring the smooth operation of our Index Committee processes. This position is offered as a contract role, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support Index Committee chairpersons with comprehensive meeting preparation, documentation, and record-keeping to ensure seamless committee operations in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Facilitate critical Index Committee processes including quarterly rebalancing's, annual methodology reviews, index launches, and methodology change implementations across multiple index families.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements through innovative use of technology including artificial intelligence tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate effective communication and ensure timely delivery of committee-related deliverables.
- Lead and manage Index Governance initiatives, ensuring adherence to project goals, objectives, and timelines.
- Assist in the administration and implementation of Index Governance policies and procedures as they relate to Index Committees, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment with Index Governance procedures.
- Analyze Index Committee performance metrics and trends using available dashboards to provide actionable insights that enhance decision-making consistency and process efficiency.
- Maintain detailed audit trails and documentation to support regulatory compliance and internal governance requirements.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-4 years of professional experience related to financial markets, financial benchmarks, or index methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams with ability to anticipate needs and manage deliverables independently.
- Proven ability to apply sound judgment and maintain confidentiality on a day-to-day basis.
- Proficiency in meeting management tools and collaboration platforms.
This is a temp role; with potential to turn into a full time after 1 year contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with committee support, governance, or coordination roles within financial services.
- Experience in managing process and system improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of benchmark regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to index management and investment committees.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Co-pilot and other Generative Artificial Intelligence applications.
- Multi-lingual.
