The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Architectural Technician to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience and a strong background in the design, technical development, coordination, and delivery of residential refurbishment projects including high-rise residential buildings.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of challenging projects, from complex refurbishment and regeneration schemes to large-scale residential developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Produce coordinated working drawing packages for planning, building regulations, tender, and construction stages.
- Develop technical detailing solutions for residential refurbishment and high-rise residential projects.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, planning requirements, and relevant British Standards.
- Support project delivery from concept through to completion.
- Participate in site inspections, surveys, and construction reviews.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Assist in managing project programmes and deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and technical reviews.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience within the UK construction industry.
- Proven experience working on residential refurbishment projects.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience detailing high-rise residential buildings.
- Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methods.
- Experience producing detailed construction and technical drawing packages.
- Proficiency in Auto CAD and Revit.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable
- CIAT membership or working towards Chartered status.
- Experience with Building Safety Act requirements and Gateway submissions.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and façade detailing for high-rise residential developments.
- Experience of BIM processes and common data environments.
We would also consider Architects, Pt 2 qualified looking to attain their Pt 3 in the next 6 months with a good technical knowledge that meet the above requirements.
