The Media Researchers are responsible for managing both new and pre-existing content from Sky Sports News covering different sports including Football, Cricket, Rugby, and F1. The main responsibilities for the Sports Archives include:
- Administration required within the MAM system, including the creation of events and IDs for Sport and Production use.
- Providing first-line support to over 3,000 MAM users, ensuring smooth operation and user assistance.
- Reviewing, editing, and archiving incoming feeds and logs for sports events with relevant metadata on the MAM.
- Logging and archiving of Sky Sports News Clips and Rushes.
- Answering footage requests from different areas across the business including News, Sports, and Creative Marketing teams.
- Digitising archival content, vault work, QC projects, and aiding uploads for Getty Clip sales.
What you'll do:
- Archiving and logging important footage for Sky Sports News.
- Overseeing Sports Digitisation Projects from Ingest to final QC of archival footage from tape to our Media Asset Management system.
- Working closely with clients from various sports teams to deliver on their requests.
- Using a variety of software/hardware including Viz systems, TLS, Ardome, and Archive II.
- Developing and building upon current skills to become a multiskilled researcher within the department.
- Adding content to our Getty clip sales platform.
- MAM administration including reviewing information from Lines Requests for sports bookings, database entry creation, ID creation, rectifying errors, moving and amending material, plus EDL troubleshooting.
What you'll bring:
- Excellent knowledge of both historic and current sports, particularly in Football, Cricket, F1, Golf, and other sports.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
- Ability to work varying shifts and days based on module requirements, with some on-site workdays as standard.
- Knowledge of Sky’s sports rights for copyright purposes with footage.
- Highly organised to deal with and prioritise daily workload and balance departmental requirements.
- Solid and previous experience using MIC Viz One, Cloud UX, and Ardome systems.

How you'll work:
The role is based on a 7-day fortnight pattern with 12-hour shifts (11 hours with 1 hour lunch) totalling 38.5 hours for 2 weeks:
- 8am-8pm: Weds, Thurs
- 8am-8pm: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun
Then, for the next 2 weeks:
- 10am-10pm: Weds, Thurs
- 10am-10pm: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat & Sun
