Role/Team overview

The Advanced Analytics team sits at the heart of Consumer Strategy, helping shape some of Sky’s biggest commercial decisions through advanced analytics, AI and customer insight. Working across TV, NOW, Connectivity, VIP and future growth opportunities, we partner with senior leaders to identify opportunities, solve complex business problems and influence strategic direction.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and lead the Advanced Analytics roadmap for your business area, prioritising resources to maximise commercial value and support strategic business priorities.
  • Lead a high performing analytics team, setting the standard for analytical excellence while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous development.
  • Set the technical direction for the team and oversee a portfolio of complex, high impact analytical initiatives to build a best-in-class analytics capability and deliver measurable business.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, shaping business strategy through clear, commercially focused analytical insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate across Consumer Strategy and the wider analytics community to strengthen analytical capability, drive best practice and unlock greater value through data.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated success influencing commercial and strategic decisions through advanced analytics in a complex, fast paced organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities, anticipate business challenges and translate analytical insight into clear business implications and strategic actions.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders, communicating complex analytical concepts clearly and influencing decisions at Director level and above.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strategic thinking, with the ability to connect disparate insights, uncover the underlying drivers of business performance and solve complex business problems.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics, with deep knowledge of statistical, predictive and AI enabled techniques and when to apply them to solve business problems.

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience leading analytics teams in a commercial environment.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in analysing large scale customer and behavioural data.
  • Experience applying advanced analytical techniques to solve business problems.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience with Python, R or similar programming languages.
  • Experience in subscription, media, telecommunications or other consumer businesses.

How you’ll work

We’ve adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 3 days in the office per week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
