Role overview

We are hiring a collaborative Global Head of Technology to join the procurement leadership team.

In this role, you will help shape our procurement strategy and work with leaders across the business to deliver real, lasting value.

  • What youll be doing
  • Oversee WPP's annual technology spend of approximately $800 million and work closely with the Global CIO, Global CTO, and agency IT teams to maximize value from technology investments, software assets, and supplier relationships.
  • Lead a global team of 9 procurement professionals organized into two main areas: Software & AI (including software asset management), IT Services, Telecom, Infrastructure & Cloud (including supplier relationship management).
  • Guide a supporting team of 4 colleagues based in the Mumbai operations hub.
  • Strategic Planning: Create and lead a 3-to-5-year technology procurement plan aligned with WPP's business goals.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support a diverse, multi-location team to help them grow and succeed.
  • Relationship Building: Partner with senior leaders (including the Executive Committee) and key technology partners to build strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Value & Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, manage risks, and deliver innovative technology solutions.
  • Collaboration: Align the supply chain with WPP's technology roadmap in coordination with the Global Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and Global CIO.
  • What youll be working with
  • Reporting to the Global Chief Procurement Officer; collaborate with the Global CIO, Global CTO, Agency Network CIOs and senior technology leaders across WPP.
  • Lead a global procurement team across Software & AI, IT Services, Cloud and Infrastructure; partner with key technology suppliers to achieve strategic business outcomes.

  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop procurement teams in global or complex organizations.
  • Technology Procurement Expertise: Deep experience managing technology categories (including software, cloud, and emerging tech like AI).
  • Strong Relationship Skills: Ability to build trust, influence decisions, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Change Management: Experience guiding teams through change in fast-paced environments.
  • Commercial Mindset: Strong negotiation skills and experience building mutually beneficial partnerships with major global technology suppliers.
