As a Food Services Assistant, you'll be working in one of our Partnership hotels and supporting the profitable running of the catering operation there. You'll be working alongside a dedicated team of hospitality professionals to deliver a first-class guest experience. If you are looking for a hotel with something different and some history to work in, then The Odney Hotel, our Place by the River could be for you. This is a beautiful and unique John Lewis Partnership owned hotel, set in 130 acres by the River Thames in Cookham, Berkshire.

The main building Lullebrook Manor and its grounds are thought to have been the inspiration for the classic novel The Wind in The Willows bringing history along with relaxation where you can enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace, a drink in the bar or a meal overlooking the river.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Showing flexibility to work in different areas of the hotel when needed.
  • Always ready to lend a hand to your fellow team members and ensure the smooth running of the hotel.
  • Adhering to the highest standards of health and safety to ensure a safe working environment for both fellow Partners and guests.
  • Using your excellent organisational skills to prioritise tasks.
  • Interacting with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner and sharing your passion for good food and drink.
Essential skills/experience:
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and find solutions quickly when issues arise.
Desirable skills/experience:
  • Previous experience in a hospitality environment.

  • Pay: £13.00 (£13.25 after 90 days)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Hours of Work: A full-time post (37.5 hours/week) and a part-time position (30 hours/week) across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends between 07:00 - 23:30
  • Job Level: Partnership Level 10
