About the Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Team. S&P Global Ratings' Editorial & Design team consists of about 100 staff in offices around the world and is part of our Analytical Business Operations and Controls division.
As part of this team, you will work closely with other writers, editors, digital content producers, and Ratings analysts across all sectors to transform complex research, data, and analytical concepts into compelling published articles. The Impact
We are seeking a London-based Financial Editor/Data Journalist to join our Ratings Editorial & Design team. You will edit, write, and publish engaging research using data-driven insights to create clear and compelling credit stories. Working closely with credit analysts, researchers, and economists, you will ensure our content supports market relevance while collaborating with digital designers to ideate data visualizations that showcase our unique insights. Your work will refine content for clarity, conciseness, accuracy, and impact under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Edit and write credit-related research and data, including rating actions, market commentary, and in-depth entity-specific and industry reports.
- Integrate data-driven insights into articles to create compelling, accessible stories for diverse audiences.
- Apply "digital-first" principles through brevity, plain English, and engaging data visualization concepts.
- Ensure articles are grammatically accurate, adhere to house style, and meet global publishing standards.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and follow established processes to deliver error-free articles under tight deadlines while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Perform production tasks, ensuring all articles conform to global publishing standards in terms of format, style, and branding specifications.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in digital journalism, data journalism, communications, economics, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in financial research, business media, or data journalism.
- Excellent storytelling skills with proven ability to identify and extract compelling narratives from complex datasets.
- Strong technical aptitude with content management systems, publishing platforms, and content creation workflow tools.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with ability to adapt style for different audiences.
- Sound knowledge of financial market terminology and concepts, with ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in editing or writing about specific financial sectors, emerging market trends, or credit analysis.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in content creation and data journalism.
- Knowledge of emerging data journalism tools and techniques, including data visualization software.
Additional Information
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
