Full time - Permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm

Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northwest, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Mears works in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

About the Role

Are you a commercially minded analyst with a passion for data, reporting and financial accuracy? We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our team, playing a crucial role in supporting key operational processes, ensuring accurate reporting, validating income and delivering meaningful analysis that supports decision making across the business.

In this role, you will work closely with operational, commercial and service delivery teams to analyse data, manage income reconciliation activities, investigate discrepancies and communicate commercial impacts to clients. You will help maintain compliance with key performance indicators, strengthen financial controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring income is accurately identified, processed and recovered, while producing reliable reporting and analysis to support commercial performance and operational delivery. You will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to investigate issues, resolve queries and provide insight that supports effective decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage cost and dealing with cost models
  • Analysing data sets and producing meaningful management information
  • Liaise with Client and colleagues to resolve data integrity issues and ensure data accuracy
  • Producing and delivering accurate daily reports
  • Reconciling and validating income against contractual requirements and operational activity
  • Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies and income queries
  • Supporting contract governance and commercial activities
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and strengthen financial controls
  • Working closely with Service Delivery Centre, Operations and Commercial teams

Role Criteria

  • Commercially astute with strong business and financial awareness
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience analysing large datasets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively
  • Experience working within a commercial, finance or analytical environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
