Overview
Lorien's leading banking client seeks a Data Analyst for a high‑performing Agile delivery team working on a cloud‑based enterprise data platform. This role focuses on data, systems, integrations and cloud technologies rather than traditional business process analysis. The position is hybrid, requiring 2 days a week on site in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham or Telford.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document technical and data requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
- Analyze and document data flows, data lineage and data mappings.
- Define API specifications and system integrations.
- Work with developers on ETL processes, data transformations and data warehouse solutions.
- Support data modeling and ensure data is delivered effectively from multiple source systems to reporting and end users.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, architects and Product Owners across multiple Scrum teams.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing and stakeholder engagement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a Technical Data Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
- Proven background working on enterprise data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of data flows & lineage, API integrations, ETL processes, data modeling & data warehousing, data mapping.
- Cloud platform experience (AWS and/or Snowflake preferred).
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
Desirable
- Asset Management experience (highly desirable).
- Retirement Solutions or Pensions experience (highly desirable).
- SQL and data governance knowledge.
- Exposure to modern cloud data technologies.
