Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in General Surgery on a 12 month fixed-term contract based at Darent Valley Hospital. The appointment is available to start ASAP and requires full GMC Registration with a licence to practice, and completion of foundation training or equivalent experience. Computer literacy and a good standard of written and spoken English are essential.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will undertake clinical duties as detailed in the Weekly Programme of Duties.
- Responsibilities may be altered to meet service needs without notice.
- The post holder will be required to visit patients in any establishment forming part of the Trust at the request of the Consultant.
- The role includes being on a full shift rota and taking part in Internal Cover arrangements during the absence of Registrars and middle grades on annual or study leave.
- The post holder may be required to deputise for absent colleagues from time to time and to perform additional duties in exceptional emergencies or on-call scenarios.
- The post holder may be required to undertake administrative duties commensurate with the post and to supervise and support Senior House Officers.
- There is encouragement to undertake research under the supervision of consultants.

- Adequate experience in the specialty, or demonstrated experience and competencies
