About the Role
Campus Cleaning Services provides cleaning across 7,076 campus bedrooms, 479 hotel rooms and 65 University buildings.
We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to join the Campus Cleaning Services (Residences) team within the Estates Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient, customer focused facilities service within student accommodation, carrying out minor maintenance, periodic compliance checks and other general duties.
- Carry out minor non-skilled repairs and maintenance of equipment.
- Report damage or defects that require skilled repair.
- Unblock toilets and sinks.
- Replace shower fittings.
- Reset refrigerators.
- Replace Salto batteries.
- Change lights.
- Clean and maintain building entrance areas, windows, stairways, walls, ceilings, light diffusers and various public areas to required standards.
- Use and maintain industrial and standard floor care equipment.
- Working Hours & Schedule
- 36.5 hours per week.
- Work 5 days out of 7 including Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis.
- Mon to Thurs 08:30-17:00, Fri 08:30-16:00.
- Saturday and Sundays will vary as required.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent EU licence) in force for at least 1 year.
- No serious driving convictions (any period of disqualification must have expired by at least 1 year).
- Ability to undertake manual handling and a level of physical activity.
- Good team player with strong customer service skills.
