We are looking for a Paralegal to support our conveyancing team with a mix of legal research, document preparation, and case support work. This role sits between the administrative Conveyancing Executive and a fully fee-earning Conveyancer: you will handle substantive legal tasks under supervision, including aspects of title investigation, search reviews, and client communication, while developing the case knowledge and judgment needed to progress toward a Conveyancer role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting Conveyancers with title investigation, including reviewing office copy entries, planning searches, and environmental reports
- Preparing draft reports on title, contract packs, and standard form replies to enquiries under solicitor supervision
- Reviewing search results and flagging issues to the supervising Conveyancer
- Preparing completion statements, transfer deeds, and mortgage documentation under supervision
- Managing client correspondence and updating clients on case progress
- Conducting AML and source of funds checks at the direction of the supervising Conveyancer
- Supporting the Post Completion team with AP1 preparation and SDLT return documentation
- Maintaining accurate case records on the Homey platform
- Assisting with legal research on non-standard title or property issues as required
Requirements
- Law degree, GDL, LPC, or equivalent legal qualification (completed or in progress)
- 1+ years of experience in a conveyancing, property law, or general legal support role
- Solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process and the key documents involved
- Strong written English: able to draft clear, accurate correspondence and legal documents
- Organised and thorough, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Keen to learn and develop: you are not looking for a static support role but a stepping stone to qualification
- Nice to have: CILEx membership or active study toward qualification as a licensed conveyancer or solicitor
- Experience using a conveyancing case management system
- Familiarity with HMLR portal, Land Registry searches, or AP1 submissions
- Exposure to leasehold or new build matters
Benefits
- Competitive Salary: Commensurate with experience. Paid in GBP with a UK contract.
- Opportunities for high-level professional development and organizational influence.
- Supportive work environment with a focus on work‑life balance and employee well‑being.
