Our team brings to bear PIMCO's intellectual capital, resources and proprietary infrastructure to help our clients make better investment decisions.

Team Overview

Founded in 2009 as one of the industry's first dedicated "Solutions" groups, we are a client‑facing team partnering with a diverse range of clients across geographies and channels.

The team focuses on generating actionable investment insights across several analytical lenses, including portfolio diagnostics, portfolio optimisations, and asset‑liability modelling.

Responsibilities

However, the remit of the role will be larger and will evolve over time, based on the candidate's background and broader business needs.

CIOs, CEOs, Boards, Investment teams, Investment consultants, etc.) with macro issues of investment management, such as asset allocation and risk management.

  • Partner with Account Management teams to develop and directly present to clients / prospects customised portfolio analyses, in order to propose actionable fixed‑income, multi‑asset and hedging solutions, across public and private markets.
  • For Defined Benefit pension schemes, incorporate liability‑aware considerations into asset allocation, including LDI and CDI strategies, to align portfolios with liabilities, cash‑flow needs and long‑term objectives.
  • Become a trusted investment advisor to help PIMCO further enhance the servicing of its clients, and support business development initiatives.
  • Generate industry‑leading thought leadership, leveraging CS&A's infrastructure and asset allocation expertise.
  • Utilise AI‑enabled tools to streamline processes, enhance insights, and support the more efficient and scalable delivery of client analyses.

Requirements

5‑10 years of relevant experience in asset management, investment consulting, or banking.

Preference for candidates with a background in multi‑asset or LDI strategies, coming from a portfolio management role, an asset manager's solutions team or investment consultancies.

  • Degree in finance, economics, financial mathematics, statistics or engineering preferred. Advanced degree (MBA or Master) beneficial but not strictly required.
  • Knowledge of the Defined Benefit Pension Schemes landscape is highly desirable, particularly in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

Knowledge of LDI and CDI investments is highly desirable.

  • Very robust quantitative and analytical skills, modelling and advanced Excel skills are required. Proficiency in one of the following is desirable: Python, Matlab, SQL.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and business insight, ability to articulate ideas/strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Language skills: fluent English, and ideally another European language (preferably Dutch, French or German).
