Overview

Physiotherapy Inpatient Team Lead – Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford. 37.5 hours per week.

We have a vacancy for an experienced, dedicated Physiotherapist Team Leader to join our dynamic, friendly Physiotherapy team at Springfield Hospital.

Springfield Hospital is a private facility with 64 beds (all with en-suite facilities), a 14 bed Day unit and a high dependency unit.

The post holder will lead the in-patient physiotherapy service, report to the Physiotherapy Manager, and be responsible for organising their own workload alongside managing the in-patient team and weekend roster.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the inpatient physiotherapy service and coordinate an seven-day service.
  • Deliver treatment to in-patients, discharge planning, social care referrals, pre-admission work, and collaboration with the MDT, consultants, and external customers.
  • Cover the inpatient service from 08:00–18:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend work as rostered.
  • Ro ster to work weekends as required to meet hospital needs.
  • Work toward maintaining an outstanding level of patient care while aligning with business needs and governance frameworks.
  • Contribute to the seven-day in-patient service and support the orthopaedic, surgical, medical, and outpatient teams as appropriate.
  • What you'll bring with you
  • HCPC and CSP registration.
  • Experience in leadership, promoting innovation and improvement.
  • Excellent knowledge of orthopaedics with experience in respiratory care and discharge planning.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise independently.
  • Ability to maintain judgement under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in clinical audits and utilization of outcome tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning processes.
  • Strong understanding of CSP Standards of Physiotherapy Practice and Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • Work within the hospital governance framework and comply with regulatory standards (CQC).
  • An understanding of the private sector would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work weekend shifts as required to meet hospital needs.
