We have an opportunity for a Physiotherapy Assistant to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include

  • Assist with the delivery of physiotherapy interventions as directed by a registered Physiotherapist.
  • Support patients with prescribed exercises, mobility practice, and therapeutic activities in a safe and compassionate manner.
  • Observe and report patients' responses to treatment and any concerns to the supervising therapist.
  • Set up and prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions, ensuring all equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use.
  • Support patients in the safe use of mobility aids, walking frames, or other therapy tools.
  • Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and storage of equipment in line with infection prevention and control standards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria

  • Experience working in a healthcare, care, or rehabilitation setting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A caring, patient-focused approach and commitment to promoting independence.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a physiotherapy or therapy assistant role.
  • Knowledge of mobility aids, basic anatomy, or therapeutic exercises.
  • Familiarity with hospital systems and electronic documentation.
