Overview
The Mitchell Group at the Cambridge Early Cancer Institute seeks a research assistant with a background in computational biology to work on kidney cancer.
The role involves joining a collaborative project that investigates genome evolution across a large cohort of kidney cancer patients, integrating whole-genome sequencing, transcriptomic, epigenomic, and clinical data.
The successful candidate will curate, analyze, and integrate large-scale genomic datasets to reveal molecular drivers of kidney tumour progression.
Responsibilities
- Curate and process large-scale genomic datasets, including whole-genome sequencing (WGS), transcriptomic, and epigenomic data (including single-cell and spatial technologies).
- Learn, develop, and apply cutting-edge computational approaches for analysing high-throughput sequencing data.
- Produce clear, informative data visualisations and communicate findings within the team.
- Maintain version-controlled, well-documented, reproducible analysis pipelines.
- Collaborate on and support ongoing projects within the Mitchell Group.
Qualifications
- An MSc, or equivalent, in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
- Prior experience in multi-omics data integration is highly desirable.
- Additional Information
The role is fixed-term with funds available for 1 year in the first instance. This appointment requires a Research Passport application.
