How you make a difference
- Provide planned, patient‑oriented, goal‑directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
- Be an integral part of a multi‑disciplinary team, building trusted relationships with residents, families and the team with continuous ongoing and effective communication.
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plans and make changes as required.
- Complete and ensure resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicate changes as required.
- Teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.
What you bring
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
- Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
- Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
- Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long‑term care an asset
- Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
- Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills and critical‑thinking skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
- Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or willingness to obtain one
