About the Service

The Bank team provides supported living and short breaks for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental ill health. Each client’s needs vary; support may involve 24/7 care or assistance with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, cleaning, budgeting, medication, healthcare appointments and social or leisure activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal support in clients’ own homes.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, eating and drinking.
  • Help maintain clean and safe living environments.
  • Support clients in managing their finances and paying bills.
  • Administer medication and attend health appointments with clients.
  • Participate in social and leisure activities at home and in the community.
  • Provide additional support during short‑break periods when carers are away.

Requirements

  • Physical ability to support individuals, including using moving and handling equipment as required.
  • Commitment to regular working hours and availability on days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
  • None of our applicants need prior experience or formal qualifications; all induction and training will be provided.

Mandatory Training

Completion of the Care Certificate Mandatory Training Programme and workbook is required within the probationary period. The programme runs over eight consecutive training days within a two‑week period and includes both face‑to‑face and online sessions. Ongoing mandatory training and refresher sessions will be delivered throughout employment, and attendance is essential to remain eligible for shifts. Training hours will be paid.
