Work with Defence and Energy sector businesses we are currently working with, these include: Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), Submarine Development Agency, Atomic Weapons Establishment, Great British Energy and Rolls Royce.
Our people will also have opportunities to move between sectors, building their experience across a broad range of major programmes and projects.
Support clients in developing, implementing, and optimising procurement and funding strategies for greener and sustainable fit to meet Net Zero targets.
Experience of the factors influencing major project / programme set up, development and delivery at different stages in the project / programme lifecycle, with the emphasis on: Business case development; and Major infrastructure development using public funding and/or private capital.
Use your experience and knowledge to contribute to the strategic and commercial assessment of a business challenge, the development of 'optimal' solutions and its implementation.
Use your strong interpersonal, communication and persuasive skills to engage with and influence a wide range of clients and stakeholders to successfully implement, adopt and realise business outcomes.
Present your ideas and outputs in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
Deploy our established processes, tools, and systems, tailoring these to suit specific circumstances and contributing to their continuous improvement and development.
Be confident operating as part of a multi-disciplined team providing a holistic professional advisory service to our clients in all parts of a major programme.
Be accountable for the quality of your work and delivering on excellent client care.
Disseminate your knowledge and experience through our communities of practice, social media channels and workshops.
Identify, contribute to and progress business generation opportunities where appropriate.
Flexible to travel is a requirement for this role.
To be an attractive candidate for our business in this role within the defence and security sector, you will possess some of the following attributes:
- Must be able to attain UK Mo D Security Clearance - British Nationals only need apply.
- Degree or MBA qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
- Experience of government Greenbook business case development.
- Experience of working in the Defence and / or public infrastructure sector, with a portfolio of experience in managing transactions/projects with a public sector delivery settings.
- Ability to write HMT Green Book Business across all five cases.
- Familiarisation of HMT Green Book Business Case Economic principles.
- Knowledge of economic benefit assessment, including social value, community benefits and low carbon transition.
- Appreciation of relevant UK policy guidance development.
- Experience of government departmental governance process for HMT Green Book Business Case approvals.
Additional experience
- Preferably have experience of assuring HMT Green Book Business Cases.
- Broader experience in the following sectors will be viewed favourably: renewable / clean energy and decarbonization, transport, water services, government services.
- Effective management experience within a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrable capability as an influencer within commercial / procurement environments, coupled with the flair to leverage commercial opportunities and grow client relationships as a 'trusted advisor'.
- Robust and methodical analytical skills, adaptable and a team player to work as part of a growing business unit.
- A natural gravitas in dealings with clients, with a 'making the difference' approach and an enquiring mind set.
- Able to prepare, define and lead on bid proposals, and work closely alongside Senior Management and the wider Turner & Townsend team.
