The primary function is to act as lead engineer for composite turbomachinery design and development which guides the architecture, resolving technical problems, coordinating assignments for designers, collaborating with program leadership, and presenting to stakeholders.

Interacting closely with project managers, analytical teams, and designers is important to meeting project deliverables and milestones.

Demonstrate effective technical leadership to guide innovative designs to give Honeywell competitive advantages for the future.

Understand and adhere to design requirements and practices, act with speed and accuracy for on-time execution.

Listen to internal customer's needs and drive burning platform initiatives to reduce cycle time and cost.

Mentor less-experienced engineers.

The successful candidate will engage mainly in APU, Turboprop, and Turbofan product lines and will provide technical guidance for composite turbomachinery design and development.

The candidate will support and report out to key stakeholders within the Engines and Power Systems Engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an engine design lead to coordinate the efforts of composite turbomachinery design during the development phase or production support of a gas turbine engine.
  • Imagine, design and develop products and systems as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team
  • You will collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers
  • You will participate in all phases of product development and will be a coach and mentor to less experienced engineers
  • Refine your engineering talents in a team-based culture by working with innovative products and technologies

Key Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 10+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design CAD platforms including modeling and drafting
  • Expertise and experience with composite design.
  • Experience with fabrication of composite structures.
  • Proficiently create, revise, and validate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using NX and Teamcenter.
