We have an exciting opportunity for a System Design Engineering Team Leader to join our Power Grids Engineering Design Team.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • As Team Leader
    • Schedule/coordinate team activities
    • Collate and report agreed KPIs
    • Maintain and update Engineer development plans
    • Identify any training and development training requirements within the team
    • Propose developments of workflow design tools and processes for HV System Design
  • As System Design Engineer
    • Develop technical details and cost‑effective cable system design proposals for customer enquiries and provide engineering support during contract execution.
    • System Design activities include: Cable current rating calculations, cable system thermal design, bonding design, induced voltage calculations.
    • Working on renewable energy projects, Grid Connections, Distribution projects, Transmission projects and more!
    • Liaise with other Prysmian Affiliate Design teams as necessary to support the UK and participation in Prysmian Group Design coordination meetings and activities.
    • Ensure the maintenance of records of contracts for future reference.
    • Provide technical support, training and services to internal functions and Customers.
    • Drive product Approvals for UK Customers.

Skills and Experience

Applicants shall be educated up to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, and should be well organised, self‑motivated, with good written and oral communication skills. Experience of HV systems design and involvement in complex, large scale projects is necessary.
