Overview
Provide comprehensive technical and applications advice and expertise to Hydra Force customers and internal departments.
Liaise with field personnel and internal teams to ensure the effective provision of information and advice to meet customer needs.
Project manage the development of new products in conjunction with internal departments and take ownership of applications projects.
Responsibilities
- Review, advise and process system design requests from customers for new applications and product development.
- Support Regional Sales Managers within their customer-facing activities.
- Generate full cost analysis breakdowns for accurate sales quotations.
- Project manage developments from inception through to end of life.
- Work with Application Engineers or independently develop proposals to customer requirements.
- Propose and advise cost effective solutions to system requirements.
- Answer technical questions on hydraulic products, application of product and hydraulic systems recommendations.
- Develop, test and deliver professional reports on custom hydraulic integrated circuits to conform to customer requirements.
- Provide field support for installation and hands-on troubleshooting of hydraulic integrated circuits and control systems.
- Participate in high-level technical discussions at customers premises.
- Integrate electro-hydraulic control systems with OEM-specific requirements.
- Monitor and work within OEM customer websites to ensure project requirements and opportunities are identified and supported accurately, using company resources as required.
- Support the production departments in the generation of test controls plans.
- Provide support at overseas sales exhibitions where required.
- Provide onsite training on Hydra Force hydraulic and software products.
- Provide support for warranty returns.
- Provide support, training and mentoring to internal and external customers.
- Identify, interpret and implement ISO and customer specifications and requirements.
- Provide support for the Quality Department ensuring customer PPAP requirements are met.
- Generation of Temporary Deviation Requests (TDRs) for valves and/or manifolds.
- Work to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) procedures.
- Verifying and submitting Preproduction Prototype Development (PPD) documents for new product development from Application Engineers.
- Contribute to the development of the Technical Support Engineering Team and support undergraduate placement students and apprentices, providing advice, mentoring, training and guidance as required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or qualified by relevant experience.
- Proven experience of Off-Highway, Construction, Agricultural and/or Industrial hydraulic systems.
- Demonstrated higher level of technical knowledge to Applications Engineer level.
- Managed application projects, taking full ownership and demonstrated higher knowledge level.
- Computer literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages and experience in using MRP systems.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Knowledge of the PPAP process.
- Awareness of lean manufacturing techniques.
