Senior Commercial Analyst in Birmingham

Birmingham Full-Time No working from home possible
PVH (Tommy Hilfiger/Calvin Klein)

This is a senior, analytically focused commercial role requiring a highly skilled professional with a proven track record in commercial data analysis, pricing governance, and contract performance management. Working as a critical partner to the Commercial Manager, the postholder will own the analysis, reporting, and governance frameworks that protect and grow commercial margin across the organisation's print management client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Data Analysis & Reporting: Design, build and maintain complex commercial data models to monitor rate card adherence across the full client portfolio. Produce detailed variance analysis identifying the root causes of pricing non‑compliance, margin erosion, and off‑contract spend, quantifying the financial impact at account and portfolio level. Develop and own a suite of commercial management dashboards and KPI reports, providing the Commercial Manager and senior stakeholders with accurate, timely, and actionable insight. Conduct deep‑dive analysis into cost and sell rate card performance, identifying trends, anomalies and opportunities for margin improvement. Prepare regular business reviews and board‑level commercial summaries, translating complex data into clear narratives and recommendations.
  • Rate Card Governance & Contract Compliance: Own the end‑to‑end rate card governance process – implementing new contract rate cards, maintaining existing rates and ensuring accuracy across all client accounts. Monitor and enforce pricing compliance across the portfolio, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies before they result in client overcharges, audit findings or financial penalties. Maintain audit‑ready governance documentation for all rate card changes, client pricing agreements and compliance activity. Lead the ongoing development of the Commercial Toolkit – the centralised reference system covering cost rates, sell rates, SLAs, contract milestones and commercial opportunities for all print management accounts.
  • Margin Optimisation: Proactively identify and quantify margin enhancement opportunities across the client base, working collaboratively with account teams to implement improvements. Track and report on the financial impact of margin initiatives, producing clear before‑and‑after analysis to demonstrate commercial ROI. Analyse purchasing patterns and supplier cost movements to identify pricing opportunities and support contract renegotiations.
  • Commercial Support to Account Teams: Act as the primary commercial analysis resource for account teams, providing timely and accurate responses to pricing queries and commercial support requests. Conduct client savings reporting in line with contracted obligations, ensuring accuracy and on‑time delivery. Support the Commercial Manager in commercial negotiations by preparing pricing models, scenario analyses and benchmarking data.
